How to Apply FRONTLINE® Plus to Your Dogs ?

FRONTLINE PLUS® for Dogs features an advanced formula. Unlike some other flea treatments, it kills both fleas and ticks on your pet to help protect them from the discomfort and diseases these parasites cause. Plus, it stops the flea eggs that fall off your dog from hatching in your home. Use it every 4 weeks for optimal protection and to help your dog feel healthier and happier.

Checklist for using Frontline Plus
No flea product can stop fleas jumping onto your pets. It is normal to see a few fleas on your pet after treatment as new fleas continue to hatch out from infested environments. These fleas will be killed within 24 hours of jumping onto your treated pet.
How does FRONTLINE PLUS® work?
Once applied, FRONTLINE PLUS® is stored in the sebaceous glands in your pet’s skin and spreads over their whole body surface with their natural oils. Fleas and ticks are killed through contact with your pet’s skin and coat – they don’t need to bite to be killed.
Why might I see fleas on my pet after applying FRONTLINE PLUS?
FRONTLINE PLUS® kills fleas by affecting their nervous system, making them hyperactive before dying. These dying fleas often rise to the top of the pet’s coat and bounce, so if you see fleas after treatment, it’s often a sign the product has got to work.
Do fleas and ticks need to bite my pet to be killed by FRONTLINE PLUS®?
No. FRONTLINE PLUS® acts topically, meaning fleas and ticks are killed through contact with your pet’s skin and coat – they don’t need to bite to be killed.
I am pregnant, can I apply FRONTLINE PLUS® to my pet?
There are no known health risks associated with applying these products to your pet during pregnancy. As a general rule, pregnant women should wear gloves to avoid direct contact with the product.
What happens if my pet gets wet straight after applying FRONTLINE PLUS®?
Once FRONTLINE PLUS® has been applied, it’s recommended to keep your pet out of the rain and away from water (including the sea, streams, rivers and ponds) for the next 48 hours. Don’t bathe them either. If they do come into contact with rain within 48 hours after treatment, it’s unlikely that they’ll get so wet that the product is washed away. However, if your pet gets soaked to the skin then the effectiveness of the treatment may be affected and reapplication may be needed. If this is the case, please contact your veterinary surgeon for advice.
Can FRONTLINE PLUS® be used on any breed of cat and dog?
Yes, FRONTLINE PLUS® can be used on any breed of cat and dog, including collies and other herding-breed dogs which can sometimes show a sensitivity to some parasite treatments.
